The Tailoring School project is the most recent initiative supported by Stella ETS. The idea was developed about a year ago, in September 2024, during a mission carried out by three members of the association. Its practical implementation began only a few months ago, thanks to the constant support of Father Charles.
The initiative led to the creation of a real vocational school, complete with teachers and students, dedicated to tailoring and all related activities. The goal is to train both women and men in sewing skills and garment production.
Stella ETS supports the project by providing funds to purchase desks, sewing machines, and all the materials required for the activities, including needles, thread, fabrics, zippers, buttons, and more. In addition, the organization also covers the salaries of the teachers.
At the end of the training program, each student will have acquired the basic skills needed to continue working independently in garment production. For this reason, together with their diploma, every graduate receives a sewing machine — a symbol of economic and professional independence.
The Tailoring School aims to become fully financially self-sufficient through a series of agreements with schools and hotels, especially in the wealthier northern part of the country, for the production of uniforms and other tailored products made within the school. The income generated through these partnerships will make it possible to purchase new materials, repair machines when needed, provide sewing machines to graduates, pay teachers, and even offer financial recognition to students.
Thanks to this initiative, the Tailoring School is not only creating garments, but also — and above all — building a solid and tangible future for its students, supported by the invisible thread that connects and strengthens the entire community.
